Tim Whelan is head custodian at Dugway Elementary in Tooele, UT. For the past three years, he has worked to mentor several students with behavioral issues. Every day, for 20 mins a day, he has a student help with his cleaning duties and then he reads with the student...or just talks and listens. "The young man was kind of a bully but I could see he had leadership potential, but I found out he had a really difficult home situation." Tim worked to break down the walls the student put up.
