Fingerpost pillar at Hurley, Berkshire

At the junction with Henley Road (A4130) and Hurley High Street. Although without finial and arms it is recognisable as an example made by W H Smith of Whitchurch, Salop. Grid ref: SU 8274 8312. Surviving pre-1939 fingerposts are very rare in Berkshire and this is one of only two known examples. Probably dates to first decade of C20.
