Moon in the balance

Explored: 23 December 2015 (all my faves got wiped out at some point -- not sure what happened).

This moonrise was one of those rare moments of serendipity and synchronicity when the moon, rising full in a crystal clear sky, met the tip of our most iconic mountain, Fisher Peak, at the moment when a winter alpenglow was at its finest. I have never seen this exact combination of elements, before or since (although I continue to watch and hope!).

This shot was taken in a hurry from my kitchen window with the only camera I had at hand at the time, my little Canon point-and-shoot.

Wishing all my Flickr friends a joyful and peaceful Christmas and festive season. May you all encounter a little bit of serendipity in the new year! Happy clicking!
