Macro Monday – Redux 2016—My Favourite Theme of the Year
When I was a Child my favourite cartoon character was Betty Boop. My Mum was a collector of Salt and Pepper sets. One of the sets in her collection was Betty Boop sitting on a motor-bike wearing all her biker gear. This reminds me of my child-hood and when I was a little girl.
A caricature of a Jazz Age flapper, Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character created by Max Fleischer, She originally appeared in the Talkartoon and Betty Boop film series, which were produced by Fleischer Studios in the 1930's and released by Paramount Pictures. Betty has also featured in comic strips and mass merchandising.
Betty Boop was described in a 1934 court case as: combining the childish with the sophisticated — a large round baby face with big eyes and a nose like a button, framed in a somewhat careful coiffure, with a very small body of which perhaps the leading characteristic is the most self-confident little bust imaginable!! HMM.
