Throne of glass+Crown of midnight review
Hello everyone, today I decided to post something different- a book review.
A review for two books, actually, Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight.
Throne of glass:
If you don't know what this series is about, here's the deal:
In a fictional kingdom where all magic is forbiden, the King is looking for a Knight, someone who will assassinate the targets he chooses.
In the castle made of glass(hence the title), a competition between Adarlan's greatest killers is being held(the winner will be the Knight).
The protagonist, Celaena Sardothien is brought to the castle by the Captain of the Guard.
My rating: 3/5
My review:
This is a YA mistery about Celaena's adventures in the castle and not her life as the greatest assassin in Adarlan, so don't expect to see her kick ass in this book because I waited for that and it never happened.
The story is interesting, but I didn't like how much the protagonist was hyped up because she never lived up to the title of 'Adarlan's assassin'. The ending was obvious too.
Crown of midnight:
SPOILER ALERT
This book starts with Celaena on her task as the King's Champion. It turns out that she fakes all of victims' deaths, risking her friends' lives.
She crosses paths with a group of individuals who rebel against the King and want Celaena to lead them for a misterious reason.
My rating: 4/5
My review:
This is the best sequal I've read so far. It makes up for everyting that the first book lacks. My only complaint is that it takes forever to get to the interesting part(the second half is action-packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat).
