Shell - Old Pump at Post Office, Bridge Road, Withypool, Somerset 1a
The restored old pumps opposite at the Withypool Tea Rooms seem to be what most people photograph in this hamlet but right opposite is this lovely old Avery Hardoll pump outside the Post Office in Withypool. There was a time when fuel of some type was dispensed here, possibly just paraffin, so in some way it would have complimented the more standard petrol forecourt that was opposite here. Back in the early 1990s it had the branding of Elston on it, a very rare small subsidiary of the Butler fuel group. See other images below from either my collection or Dan Lockton and Tony Ethridge.
