Esso - R Charlish, Bungay, Suffolk NR35 1BN 1994 1
In these photos, which I think date from 1994, R Charlish Ltd were Ford dealers and selling Esso petrol. By 2008 they were selling Gulf petrol and had lost the dealership so became a general garage selling a range of s/hand cars. More recently the garage closed and the site was demolished for redevelopment, but despite that happening in 2019, nothing has happened since and a once clear site is now overgrown with weeds. A 2020 article in the EDP suggested a plan for a Co-op convenience store on the site was rejected as being ill thought out. A 2024 article in the Beccles and Bungay journal suggests something will happen soon.

Just about every car visible in these photos is a Ford of one model or another. Other things of note are the sign for Esso Diesel 2000, on sale by 1994, and a banner on the forecourt window reading "Escort - It's Got What It Takes."
Spottedlaurel has an excellent photo of the premises from 2010 when it was Gulf branded, added below. In addition, saintdino has a photo of the pumps from 2018 when the site was closed and partially fenced off awaiting its fate, also added below.
