Multiple Brands - Rice Brothers, 84-90 High Street, Uckfield, East Sussex TN22 5AD circa 1930
Two petrol stations on view here, actually both part of the same business, and neither of which survive to the present day, although one is still a garage. On the right here is Rice Brothers garage, they looked pretty busy on this day. It's now Wilmoth Citroen and came to that latest ownership via a branch of Caffyns, a very well known name in this part of the world. On the opposite side is another part of Rice Brothers, not sure why the one other pump was needed, looks like it has a Pratt's globe on it. The building remains in the present day and on it there is a banner reading coal and coke merchants so it retained some connection to fuel. The Station hotel is still there too, on the left beyond the garage.
