Independent - Bates and Hunt, Parc Service Station, Llidiart-y-Parc, Carrog, Denbighshire, Wales LL21 9EP 8

Absolutely delighted to see this amazing ramshackle open forecourt is still there and much like it was when I last visited in 2017. So many interesting details to work through. The one remaining old Esso pump is, I believe, the last vestige of its time as an Esso branded site. The Texaco branded pump has been brought in second hand. If one looks closely there are other old pumps randomly around the site, not currently in use! On the "Esso" pump there are Hunter stickers, a retail brand part of the Bates and Hunt concern. Dan Lockton and EYBusman have both been here too and taken photos, Dan's from 2001 show the site looking rather different, Richard's from 2012, added below. Between us we have a pretty decent 21st century timeline!

With his photos, Dan gives a little background to the Bates and Hunt Hunter brand and also speculates that this garage may have been Anglo branded between Esso and how it is now. I think that;s highly likely as the other site they operate down the road from here definitely was Anglo branded back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. I know this as I have a photo of it when Anglo branded!

Dan also has a photo of a Hunter pole sign which I think is worth adding below here too.
