Former Petrol Station - Foundry Garage, Chapel Place, Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales LL16 3TU 6

This is another often photographed old garage in north Wales. I was surprised to find little information about it online, but plenty of other photos taken over the last fifteen years or so, both on Flickr and elsewhere. On the day I was here it was annoying to have two cars parked across the front of the building making longer views of the garage without the cars in shot impossible. I'm not sure exactly when the garage stopped selling petrol, but i think it was more recent than one might imagine. What pricing info there is on the pumps suggests around the turn of the century. The fact that the little Flare sign and both pumps with their globes survive to the present day is quite amazing. The building too is a lovely example dating from I would imagine the later Victorian era, maybe just Edwardian. It seems almost certain given its name that it was originally a foundry and was later converted to being a garage.

The nicest overall view I found online is here, taken some time ago when the garage was still operating.
