Former Petrol Station - BP/Dragon - Harley's Garage, Chester Street, Mold, Flintshire, Wales CH7 1EG 5
This place is a bit of a landmark garage I guess, seems to have been photographed by a fair few people over the years, but mostly for its amazingly preserved state, having not sold fuel for all of the 21st century and maybe a lot longer than that. Certainly the BP livery on one of the pumps is one from way back in the 1980s and although it's clear the garage was converted to the Dragon brand later on, and very cheaply at that, everything points to fuel sales ending by 2000 at the very latest and probably more like 1990.
I'm sure it didn't help that there's a Tesco forecourt right next door, posted yesterday, and indeed, the two old carwashes posted yesterday reside in what would have been the back of these premises.
As for the future, apparently a news story in 2023 suggested that a planning application was in to convert this site into a taxi office. I don't know if anything came of that.

Apparently it had been being used as a taxi office up to 2020. If that does happen I imagine that means the forecourt will get cleared and the old lettering on the building will go which from my point of view would be a tremendous shame.
Looking through the various Streetview images I've only now noticed that there was a third pump in the far right corner of the site, more recently hidden behind a large red metal container of sorts.
Only time will tell what happens to this run down yet highly photogenic old garage site, but for now I'm glad I got there and took these before it changes.
