BP - 63 Atholl Road, Pitlochry, Perth & Kinross PH16 5BL circa 1975

The 1970s, when cars were brightly coloured, petrol stations gave Green Shield stamps and public toilets existed! It was also the era of peak numbers of petrol stations so of course the one we see some of here has all gone, and quite some time ago. Demolished to make way for some retail units.

Over to the right there's a Renault 17, a relatively rare sight in this era, and behind a Peugeot, is it a 504? A VW camper van and a Mini Clubman Estate make up the other nearer cars.

I have to say I particularly liked this era of BP sign, maybe just because it was the era I grew up in, but the red bar underneath was the only time that they moved away from designs of just yellow and green to include a third colour.

Here's the same view in the near present day.
