Here's yet another photo of City Motors in London Road, Headington from much the same era as the last one I posted. This one has an accurate date, and the price of petrol here is so similar to the other image, it corroborates the date I gave for the colour one. Pyrex jugs must have been somewhat desirable in this era!
The premises were radically altered sometime in the 1970s, with the original glass fronted and elegant building replaced with a much more utilitarian, modern and let's face it ugly building.
You can see it as it looked in both 1959 and 1968 below as well as the colour image from much the same time.
The garage here did not last, the premises is now just a Co-op supermarket.
