It might seem a bit hard to believe but until about a decade ago this was a petrol station. It looks very different without the canopy and pumps etc and I'll be honest and say I had no idea this had been a petrol station even when I was taking these photos, I just liked the somewhat abandoned nature of the building!
It was a Shell forecourt up to 2011, then closed down and the forecourt was stripped but a ghostly white edged canopy stood for another year or so before that too went. Of course, at the time, I didn't take really good angles to show the full extent of the forecourt, but the Streetview does that.
