Shell - Broad Street Garage, Cross Street, Enderby, Leicestershire LE19 4NJ circa 1960
The focus of this postcard is clearly the fine thatched property, then a Barclay's Bank, but tucked in behind is a petrol station, here branded Shell, but still there in the present day and now branded Pace. Prior to that it had been branded Power. I have a photo of it as Pace, seen below, and Chris Greene has a photo of it as Power, also added below.
At some point the forecourt was turned by ninety degrees so the pumps are aligned differently to how they are in this image. By the style of the canopy one imagines this might have been an Elf site further back in time.
