Crane at Pace - Regal Garage, Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire WR8 0HU
Previously branded UK, and much earlier still a Shell-BP site, there must have been other brands too in the 1970s and 1980s at least at this fine and almost legendary old site. A popular place to photograph, there are many images online from across the current century, but far fewer from longer ago. There are a number of cranes and recovery vehicles on the site, the main aspect of their business I would guess, but the petrol forecourt has been maintained over the years despite the existence of a rival site just down the road. It's not as much of a rival now as it once was, with this site branded Pace and the "rival" branded Gulf, both sites are now supplied by Certas Energy. Here on a Friday evening the site was closed but I assume petrol is still served and prices displayed on the price board when they are open.
