Old UK Branded Pump, Auto Crash Repairs, Sparrow Works, Bower Hinton, Martock, Somerset TA12 6LG 4

This isn't really a garage, more of a yard, and I think the lone Wayne fuel pump is there for farm vehicles much more than as part of a garage, although a company called Auto Crash Repairs are based here. I'd have expected the pump to be labelled red diesel or at least diesel, but it has star markers on it and prices of £1.85 for two star, £1.89 a gallon for four star, which is going back a while! I think it is just coincidence but if not then petrol was last retailed here in the second half of the 1980s. I wonder if the pump still works!

Having done a little more research, the history of this site is really rather interesting. Apparently the Sparrow Works were named after Mr William Sparrow, and was a wagon and wheel works. He died in 1899, but his company went on to create and be patent holder of the first ever dodgem car!

Here's a close up of the other face of the old Wayne pump.
