This site was certainly a Burmah forecourt in the 1970s. I remember it really well from my childhood. The A421 got bypassed later on leaving this on a dead end road, so business would have suffered badly. The road turned off at this point, the garage was just beyond, so I really only ever saw the pole sign, it would have been nice to have once seen the entire garage! Here in 2024 it is still there of course, a long time since it sold fuel, but still operating as a car sales and repair garage by the looks of it. Not many garage forecourts can have a yew tree on them!
