This small filling station and possibly garage too disappeared without trace, but the school sign was an excellent clue as to the precise location, as there is a similar sign there in the present day. I particularly like the traction engine central to the photo if a little hidden. It looks like next door was a sawmill of sorts. I think there is also a Land Rover over to the right. Hard to put an exact date on the photo but I am guessing maybe 1960.
