Former Petrol Station - Windmill Autos, Bubbles Hand Car Wash, London Road, Sandy, Bedfordshire SG19 1DZ 2

I am assuming that the garage here stopped selling fuel quite a long time ago and one of the main factors in its demise would have been the bypassing of the A1 from its original route along here, although that must have happened a lot longer ago than when this site last dispensed fuel. Whether or not Jet was this place's last brand or not, it's not clear, but it was certainly a brand sold here in the later 1970s and probably into the 1980s. One small section of the canopy edge makes that clear. For a long time there were a row of shrubs across the front of the forecourt, but these have been removed to allow for more cars to be displayed. I think the Bubbles hand car wash may also be out of date, it really looks like it's just a site for selling cars these days.
