I don't know if Ashdene Car Sales is related directly to the Shell garage or if they went their separate ways some time back, but there was once a time when there was one unified garage here, back in the 1960s. It was Shell then too, but had a long spell with BP in between. It gets confusing that the Shell on this side is now called Horseshoe Garage and the one on the opposite side is Ashdene Service Station but back in the 1960s this was Ashdene Garage!
