On the far side we see Melton Garage, at the time selling Shell and BP petrol. I’m not sure when the garage closed, or indeed when the premises were entirely demolished but seemingly at least twenty years ago it had completely gone with nothing more than a carpark with a large green hedge nearest the road coming in its place. The near side must show what is now the Harboro Hotel then selling Esso petrol. It is clearly winter, with snow falling as well as lying on the ground.
