The garage here still exists although massively updated. As far as is known, it changed to Elf when Elf bought out Amoco's downstream operations in the UK, then may have been Total before changing to Jet or it may have moved directly to Jet, as seen in the earliest Streetview. Soon after that it was taken over by MFG and rebranded to Murco, then later on to BP which it is to the present day. It's a fairly spartan scene here, not much traffic and all in the distance, just a single decker bus leaving the scene and a couple of smaller lorries heading south. Clearly it is winter, and remembering what the winter of 1985/86 was like in Reading, I lived there it this time, this might well be early 1986 rather than at the end of that year.
