Butler - Hyde Garage, Cirencester Rd, Hyde, Gloucestershire GL6 8PE 1990 1
This place has suffered a slow death over the years and looks close now to demolition and redevelopment. The building is largely boarded up, the fence that had been put across the site a couple of years ago has been removed. It had long since stopped selling fuel and no signs of that show in the earliest Streetview shots but car sales and repairs were ongoing until really quite recently.
In this image the pole sign shows the Butler logo really rather small and makes me wonder what brand might have been on it previously. Two Veeder Root pumps are under the canopy and nearer the road is a single older pump, presumably for diesel. In front of the pole sign is another pole, although it's not clear here, in a slightly more recent photo it seems to be supporting a wire - see below Otherwise it just holds signs for Access and VISA. We can see that this photo was taken in winter as snow is lying in a few places.
