Former Petrol Station - Clovelly Cross, Bideford, Devon EX39 5RZ 1
This is a former petrol station with lots and lots of photos taken of it over the years. A reasonably good branding timeline is known back to the 1990s. It was a BP site in early 1995 but must have changed to Butler almost immediately afterwards - see my photo from about the same year below. Then by the end of the 1990s it was a Murco site, also see below - but that era didn't last long as it became a Power branded site soon after that. Any number of people have photos of it as a Power site, both operating and after closure. I'll link to a fair few below, Richard has a good one, so does Chris Greene, and then once closed there are some more really good photos of it then.
It was operational up to about 2013, then closed down with covers over the pumps in the 2014 Streetview and with a for sale sign up. By 2021 it was still there with pole sign, pumps and pretty much unchanged but looking very scruffy. Now in 2023 the pumps are gone and the sign repurposed and the building has been taken over by an antiques business, Roadside Relics. There were a lot of people hanging around when I got here on this Saturday afternoon so just the one photo trying hard not to include any of those people and not to antagonise anyone!
