Former Petrol Station - London Road, Cow Roast, Tring, Hertfordshire HP23 5RE
This was once a petrol station a long time back. I know so as I have a photo of it in a book from when it was back in the 1950s. Built in an Art Deco style there were once many petrol stations around that looked like this or were similar but so many of them have gone. For a short time it had been A41 Commercials - see below - but that era recently ended and it's now the base for a paving company. Prior to these tow incumbents it was called Autorama.
The Esso petrol station just along from here was, I believe, the replacement for this garage. I am guessing that this was a listed building and couldn't be redeveloped so a totally new site was built a couple of hundred yards down the road. Sometime maybe I'll scan that photo from the book and post it for comparative purposes.
