Although this place hasn't sold petrol for a long time it certainly must have in the past. Streetview shows us it was fairly recently a Renault dealership, the 2012 shot makes this very clear. The forecourt has signs showing petrol sales once happened very clearly, lots of covers in the ground would only have been used for fuel delivery. There's also footprints for two pump islands. Despite a decent effort searching I couldn't find a much older photo of this place. Now an independent garage and very highly regarded it would seem.
