Former Petrol Station - Victoria Close, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire WD3 4EQ 1
On this particular journey this was the most serendipitous moment as I spotted this place up on a hill whilst driving to a roundabout; it hadn't been on my list. Now closed down and one imagines awaiting demolition but had been grimly hanging on against the odds. At some point, I don't know when, the road this garage is on was turned into a cul-de-sac thus taking away any passing trade it might have had, Presumably a loyal customer base kept it going for a while but not enough for it to survive. The Proteus branding on the canopy is clear to see, and on Streetview the pumps that had been there were also Proteus branded, but the pole sign currently has a nameless logo, not sure at all where that came from. It looks like a proper brand design but I don't remember Proteus ever having such a logo. From Streetview it looks like they were dispensing fuel as recently as 2015.
