Pace - W Ganderton & Son, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire 5

Gandertons is an amazing place, always worth seeing again, and probably Britain's oldest garage. By now it is by all accounts 172 years old! Of course in what would have been 1851 it wasn't a garage as we'd know it today, most likely a blacksmiths and forge and maybe doing a line in shoeing horses for passing travelers. Autocar ran an article in 2018 making this claim and with a nice gallery of images which show it was branded BP for a long time in the 1950s and 1960s, but had become a Pace site in the later 1970s. It was then for a while a Q8 site (after their takeover of Pace) before eventually returning to Pace via Gulf in more recent times. I do wonder if there any other brands between the Q8 era and the newer Gulf era, could it have been branded for example Proteus for a while?

That Autocar article can be seen here www.autocar.co.uk/slideshow/inside-britains-oldest-garage#2

and another old image showing it as BP can be seen here

Richard has a photo of it as a Gulf site, added below. I'd love to see a photo of it as a Q8 but none have transpired so far.
