My contemporary photos today aren't that exciting so here's a final view of the one time Amoco garage in Shepperton. It's not that different in view to one of the other two already posted (see below) but taken on a different day, the other photo already posted was taken on the same day but from a reasonably different angle and viewpoint.
Part of this garage still exists in the present day but the rest has been replaced by housing. In this photo you can just see behind the pole sign a pagoda type building and that is the bit that survives along with some of the forecourt as a second hand car dealer. The rest including the forecourt and original garage buildings we see in the foreground here have all gone.
A couple of the stand out cars appear in all three photos so presume they were near permanent fixtures here. The green Ford Cortina and the white Bond Equipe have not moved whereas the price of petrol changed by a couple of pence per litre, so the photos are at least a few weeks apart, but this was an era of high inflation and high interest rates, much like the situation we find ourselves in today.
