Former Petrol Station - Power - Foxton, Cambridgeshire in the Snow
Whenever I post photos of this garage the first comment I make is "still closed" - as it has never opened since being done up in the Power branding you see here some eleven years ago. Historically this was always a Mobil site in the 1970s and 1980s but when BP took over Mobil in the 1990s this one changed, as a group of several sites in this area did, to Q8. It was then a Pace briefly before closing down. The pumps were removed and it seemed it was going to go completely but then came the renovations with new pumps, branding and a pay at the pump system being installed only for contamination of the site to stop it reopening. That was eight years ago - and here we are in 2023 now and still no sign of it opening! Certainly one of the weirder back stories to a site I know of.
