Multiple Brands - Howes Petrol Filling Station, Harvey Lane, Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich, Norfolk 1930s
Despite a lot of time spent searching on Streetview and the internet I have yet to find a firm location for this site. There was a one time Shell site and later a Save garage where there is now Stannard Court on Yarmouth Road. There was also an Esso site where The Denes are now, also on Yarmouth Road. In fact there was a third petrol station, once a Texaco site, at 151 Yarmouth Road. Any of these three could have been this garage although I suspect not the Esso at what is now The Denes as the road layout there looks wrong. The Texaco site looks most possible. There could of course have been other sites, now also gone. In the photo we see a bus approaching, that's a nice extra feature. There is a sign for Dominion fuel at the edge of the site and although it is hard to work out what the globes are on the pumps, I am certain one is also Dominion and another Shell.
Of course it is also possible that this image was incorrectly marked as Thorpe St Andrew, it might not be. There is a garage called Howes Motor Engineers still going in the present day, but they are in Rackheath. It seems likely there is at least a connection. They are here

I suspect they migrated to this site from Thorpe St Andrew in the past as it is known that the site in Rackheath had previous incumbents - Spottedlaurel covers some of the history of the site here

In addition there was in Harvey Lane a garage called Thorpe Motor Company, now seemingly a deserted site although the buildings are still there. The road alignment is a good match to this photo

The pub in the distance was selling Tolly Cobbold ales and was one of a huge number owned by Bullard and Son in this area, they had at one time nearly 600 in Norfolk and into Cambridgeshire and Suffolk so the list is a long one to go through! See here

If anyone happened to know for sure where this site was it would be nice to know.
Edit Update:- Now 100% confirmed as Harvey Lane. The trees match as well as the road alignment and the one thing that often doesn't change at all over timer are the trees!
