New Shell Petrol Station in Thropton, Northumberland 2
A brand new Shell and Spar is being built here, just a hundred yards down the road from the former Thropton Garage. There was a garage here on this site as can be seen on Streetview but not one that sold petrol, more of a repair and servicing garage and certainly with a speciality for four wheel drive cars - maybe even selling them too. That was all demolished fairly recently and the site is now , in the last year, being given a new purpose as a much needed filling station in this area. This is the sign up at the site showing how it will look soon. They did appear to be slightly behind schedule!
