Harvest - Town Head, Hawes, North Yorkshire DL8 3RG 3

Plenty of history for this site hunting around Flickr. Hawes is a very picturesque North Yorkshire town and there are plenty of postcards around featuring a view of this garage, or at least the pole sign. I have one such photo of it from the late 1960s I think, maybe early 1970s showing a Fina pole sign mounted back then on the opposite side of the road to the forecourt. Dan Lockton also has one of it showing a Fina pole sign, and a later one showing it as a Burmah in the 1990s and with the short lived Chinthe logo Burmah used in its last few years of operation before the brand disappeared. Dan also has a photo of it as a Spot branded site from 1999. The earliest Streetview shows it was still branded Spot then but soon changed to Gulf as Certas Energy began it's gradual takeover of most smaller sites. In quite recent times the brand changed again to the Harvest Energy site you see pictured here.
