The garage here still stands and was considerably expanded over time but sadly in recent times and all the way through Streetview petrol sales had ended. Plenty of nice images on the internet of this place but all contemporary or near contemporary so no clues as to its history in the period after this photo was taken until Streeetview came along. The cottage we see here to the right still stands on the edge of the bigger site.
