Shell - Newnham, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire 5
One of my locals but looking good at night in a close-up shot. It's been Shell here since the early 1970's, back then the garage was B&E Cocks leading to much childish sniggering in those days. This site may have been a replacement for the older garage that was just along the road from here on the other side called Queens Garage, named so as it was a stone's throw from Queens College. I do have a photo of that place from the 1930's, it's now a dental practice, but I haven't scanned it yet. Richard has a nice photo of it in the older Shell livery - see below.
