Former Petrol Station - AS Grenter & Son, Lake Village Filling Station, 21 St Mary's Road, Meare, Somerset BA6 9SP
This place was certainly a petrol station and until fairly recently was selling UK petrol. Even one of the pumps was a 1960's model and had a UK pump globe on it. Dan Lockton has a lovely photo of it from much earlier (1993) where all the pumps were of that style with globes and even then it must have seemed a super retro site. Such a shame then that it has gone - the garage carries on without any signs left now of petrol sales other than the footprint of the pump island still visible. You can see it when still open on Streetview and I'll add Dan's photo below.
