Anglo - R Palfret, Newbuildings, Crediton, Devon EX17 4PW 1990
I have to thank Dan Lockton for the location of this site - not sure I would ever have found it. It is in a remote part of Devon a long way from even a B road let alone an A road! Here we see it as an Anglo site and it looks like one of the pumps is getting some maintenance. We see a blue van with an Elf badge on it matching the one on the front of the building. The Anglo livery is quite out of date by this era - nearly all their sites had been updated to the newer signs by now but no surprise somewhere as remote as this would be last in line for the change. As it goes it never did get that upgrade as it moved on to the Butler brand within a couple of years as can be seen below.
The buildings here still remain looking much like they did here although the shed is gone, even the pump island is easily spotted but the days of selling fuel from here ended some time ago as can be seen in the only Streetview shot from 2009. The Elf oil sticker on the front of the building now reads Q8 Oils.
