Butler - Cosford, Shropshire 1988 1

I've got quite a few shots of this place and from different eras but just posting two for now due to the amazing selection of cars on view in this one and the need to show another for the continuity to how it looks in the present day. Way back in the past this was a Regent branded site which you can see below - then as we see here it became a Butler site by the 1980's, possibly via Texaco and who knows some other brands too. It remained a Butler for some time and the site was seriously modernised in such a way as to suggest this was one of Butlers flagship sites. You can see that era below too. More recently it has been an even larger and totally rebuilt Esso site and as of the last two or three years it is now a BP. I'm always quite surprised when sites such as this end up in the hands of one of the majors but it does happen now and again. Back here in what is apparently 1988 the canopy looks scruffy, the facilities are minimal and the cars are certainly of that era.

Here's the same view in the present day - it'll come as quite a shock!

As for the cars, looks like two near identical Golfs to the left, a Triumph Herald central and then over to the right the VW camper van is easy to spot, the white sports car is I think a Triumph Spitfire and the green car is well interesting but I haven't a clue what it is!
