Texaco - Leagrave Road, Luton, Bedfordshire LU3 1RH 1988
This is a tremendous example of this era of Texaco livery, the older sign and the green and red panels on the canopy edge typical of the 1970's and first half of the 1980's. For 1988 this one is really lagging behind as most would have been updated to the star logo and a mostly black canopy edge by now. There's a nice looking Mark 2 Capri coming down the road towards us with I think a Cortina behind and a Chevette parked on the side of the road. Going the other way behind the box van are a Sierra, a Beetle and an Astra. Then on the forecourt there are many more, couple of Metros and a Mazda on the near side - I could go on but I'd be guessing and make mistakes if i haven't already! Cars obscure the forecourt such that we cannot make out much of the pumps that might be hidden there somewhere! One can just make out the tops of two. There's even a bit of bunting! The premises does still exist although of course it looks quite different now - currently V12 Sports and Classics - but still recognisable - the three storey housing block beyond making the biggest clue.
