Rocky (Nafta) - Berkswell Service Station, 52 Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common, Coventry, West Midlands CV7 7EX 1988 3
Here we see the first of a handful of Rocky branded former Nafta sites. The transition to the Rocky brand was messy and done on the cheap. The pole sign just had a Rocky logo placed over the former Nafta one and the remaining decals were changed slowly over time and in no particular order! This site has had the pump decals and price board amended but there are others where that hadn't happened as yet (in this era). The diesel pump looks like it is still bearing the Nafta decals. In the distance we see a second petrol station which looks very much to have been Fina branded in this era. This would go on to be branded Total in the earlier Streetview shots and then more recently it has become a Sainsbury Local. I imagine the presence of this site was one of the causes for this one to close. On Streetview we can see that in time a canopy was added to this forecourt with the site being rebuilt entirely where the second had cars for sale are here and with the yellow canopy supports it may have become a Jet site in the later 1990's. There are a lot of cars for sale here!
