Arndale - Meldreth Motors, 84-88 High Street, Meldreth, Royston, Hertfordshire SG8 6LA 1985
This is the earliest image I have of this garage from the mid 1980's and shows Arndale as the brand with a basic pole sign and manually adjustable prices as well as an open forecourt. There was a tie-in with Renault but it was quite understated at this time. The clock on the front of the building is a nice touch and pretty rare by this era - it was relatively common to see in the pre-war era. Sadly though the garage did not last and in time it would close and be demolished. Modern houses occupy where this garage once was.
