Arndale - Copythorne Garage, Romsey Rd, Cadnam, Copythorne, Southampton, Hampshire SO40 2PB 1991 1
The garage here still exists in the present day but petrol sales ended many years ago. This is one of two earlier photos of this garage, I don't know the precise date but will guess it to be around 1991. The nearest pump is of an older style and as can be seen below it was gone by 1994. The garage is set back from the road and several trees line the border - these have really grown over the intervening thirty years and obscure the view from the road somewhat. Many of the features that were there in 1991 are still there now - the building is unaltered and the pole sign still stands but of course amended. The garage would go on to be branded Butler a few years later and I suspect that was its last brand before the pumps went.
