National - Pritchard and Sons, Station Crescent, Llandrindod Wells, Powys 27th August 1962

Despite what is written on this photo this is not Haverfordwest and is Llandrindod Wells. It's a pretty well known garage and there are quite a few other images of it around on the net but none that I have seen before from this era - whilst the given location is 100% wrong there is no reason to question the date - 1962 seems highly likely to me. Sadly the garage has now closed down but it was still operating up to around five years ago or so under the UK banner. GSV shows it still with an array of pumps around the building and a UK sign extending from the side of the building. One also sees the various names associated with a Rootes dealership still showing - Commer, Hillman, Humber, Sunbeam etc www.google.com/maps/@52.2413169,-3.3778372,3a,75y,311.83h... More photos can be found here including one of inside the premises www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/garage-llandrindod.htm The garage was branded BP by the mid 1970's as can be seen here www.flickr.com/photos/8050359@N07/5370507834/ There are a huge number of photos of it from more recent times on various websites - a popular place to photograph it would seem but I've picked one out as more interesting as it is taken at night-time and in the snow! www.geograph.org.uk/photo/334978
