This is the reverse image of one I had already posted - you can see the original post below. The photos are numbered in the lower left corner, this one 3, the previous one posted is 2. I think they must probably originate from a surveyors office and were being used to judge some aspect of this junction - either a plan to redevelop it or some safety issue maybe - it might even just be an application by the garage to erect a new sign. Shell, Esso, Dominion and National Benzole were available here when this junction looked rather more straightforward compared to how it does today! The A283 and the A24 meet at the village of Washington and in the present day this is a large interchange and not a humble crossroads! Of course the A24 and the A283 have been re-routed away from the village of Washington and the exact same spot viewed today is not on either the A24 or the A283 but is here www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.9053937,-0.4047781,3a,75y,90t/d...
