Shell-BP - Regal Garage, Upton on Severn, Worcestershire 1960's
This is an often photographed and much loved old garage - it's one of my favourites and one I have visited and photographed twice in recent years. A classic double fronted modernist style garage and petrol station, probably from the late 1930s and one of a few Art Deco garages still operating in the country today. Most recently branded Pace but before that branded UK in 2014 - see photos below. It's interesting to note that the Regal Garage lettering which was present in this old photo is also there in the present day but wasn't during the UK era that I photographed - although it was when others were there - see below. Maybe this had something to do with this news story I found! www.malverngazette.co.uk/news/10631451.owner-of-eyesore-g... The 2009 Streetview shot also shows a fine array of UK branding that subsequently disappeared along with some of the pumps! www.google.com/maps/@52.0649187,-2.2187759,3a,75y,264h,85... A further great photo of it when there was a flood in the area in July 2007 can be seen here www.geograph.org.uk/photo/506080
