Jet - High Street, Bawtry, Yorkshire 25th July 1974
This is a distant pole sign and a little frustrating that despite this being the second old photo I've found of this garage it still only shows a Jet sign (it's just above the roof of the green van in the distance in case you can't spot it!) and everything else is largely obscured as well as being very much in the distance. There are some blue and white pumps on view but not outside the building that would later become the last Bartons of Bawtry site, wrong side of the ornate fronted building, but might well be connected to the Jet logo – Conoco colours were blue and white and they owned Jet by this point in time. Anyway, other than the distant Jet sign and blue and white pumps there are a wonderful array of period cars here so it’s worth seeing the photo just for them! Triumph Dolomite pulling out onto the high street, a red Renault 4, behind it a Volvo 24something (I think) a silver Austin, an early model Cortina with a vinyl roof, and I think the car going the opposite way to the Dolomite is a Morris Marina but I am very happy to be corrected on any of my guesses!

Edit update:- The blue and white pumps are nothing to do with the Jet outlet and I now know that was once a BP so maybe a National here?
