Atlantic - Mountfield Road, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, Sussex late 1960's
This is an interesting picture for at least two reasons. Firstly the forecourt island is triangular with a pump on each side – that’s pretty unusual. Secondly Atlantic as a brand only lasted a few years in the UK before it became Arco (Atlantic Richfield Corporation) and then Arco didn’t last very long either! Garage is still there in the present day but fuel sales ended a long time ago - it doesn't have a street number but is between 14 and 16!
