BP - Elizabeth Way, Cambridge 1
Here's another of my local BP garages - not a great photo due to the tree even without leaves obscuring the scene rather. Formerly Salisbury's garage - there has been a garage on this site since the 1960's when this section of road was called Haig Road and the big bridge over the river had not been built. In those days the garage sold Regent petrol - later on it became a Mobil garage in the 1980's and 1990's and then a Q8. In 2008 it was branded Texaco www.google.com/maps/@52.212945,0.1364587,3a,75y,34.22h,96... and made the last switch to BP around the end of 2009. The Salisbury's garage I remember was a Vauxhall and Opel dealer and I remember eying up Opel Mantas as they had a large round podium to feature a single car on the corner of the site and it was almost always an Opel Manta. In the end I bought a Capri which was probably a wise move, more reliable and certainly easier to fix and obtain cheap parts.
