Esso - Silverthorne Service Station, Wandsworth Road, London SW18 1960

This is a classic petrol station building design imported into the UK from the States in this era by Esso and also Regent who by then were owned by Texaco. I'm not sure precisely where this was but there is a Silverthorne Road which crosses Wandsworth Road. Not far from this junction is a Texaco outlet in the present day but I don't think it's the same place. The housing beyond looks to nice to have been demolished. However there is a candidate almost opposite there where there some new housing and a driveway across the pavement looks suspiciously like the style used at petrol stations. See what you think. www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4690161,-0.1422201,3a,75y,178.4...
